I ran across this on another forum, but no one seemed to have any good info on them. First, are they the next version of the mud terrain? Or are they some limited edition tire that looks like the krawler? I know there was a tire with the exact krawler footprint but it was for 22" rims, maybe this is something similar? And does anyone know when we can expect to see these on the market and whether they will be much more expensive then the current M/T?

well that most def. isnt a 22"er there...all the talk on a jeep forum is that they will be available this fall (07) for roughly the same price as the current ones...someone did mention that sizes would start at 35's...not sure about all this but im guessing that a place like 4 wheel parts would probally be caring them when they first came out...

That is the next generation BFG MT, whenever they deside to launch it:rolleyes: That is what I want for my next set of tires. 37x12.5x15 Please:D

Michelin rolls out BFGoodrich UHP, light truck tires

July 20, 2007

Michelin North America Inc. introduced two new BFGoodrich brand tires this week during a ride-and-drive event near Salt Lake City, Utah: the BFG g-Force Super Sport A/S ultra-high performance passenger tire and the BFG Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 light truck tire.
The g-Force Super Sport A/S will be available in 29 sizes this October, ranging from 15 inches to 20 inches in diameter.

The tire contains three compounds -- one for dry handling, one for wet handling and one for snow handling -- under the BFG brand's Multi-Grip Tread Technology banner. The compounds "are positioned side-by-side across the gripping surface of the tire," say Michelin officials.

The BFG Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 light truck tire is designed for rock climbing and other rugged applications. Sizes will be rolled out in two phases, the first starting this September and the second starting in September 2008.

The tire contains BFG's Krawler TEK technology that consists of agressive sidewall lugs, cut- and chip-resistant sidewall compounds and sidewall cords "that are up to 33% stronger than the previous Mud-Terrain T/A KM tire. These advancements allow for more bite and sidewall protection, along with increased strength and resistance to bruising caused by rocks and rough trails."

well that sucks...no 15's

Lets hope these are as sticky as the Krawlers but at an MT price :D

Oh man, I heard there would be sizes available for 15s right off the bat, now i got my hopes up :( Guess i'll have to wait a few more years.

They are spose to be the same price as the current MT's All I have to say is Pro Comp better get there act together! No one will buy one of there MT's over these.

This tire is available now. So when will we see it on an explorer?

truckhaven......

If its anywhere near as good as Krawlers, I might get them to replace the two old/beaten/cracked SX's on the front. Then I can really compare them to the Creepy Crawler's currently in the back.

EDIT - nevermind, I forgot they're not available in 15's yet :thumbdwn: . Well there goes half of the market:confused:

I was going to get these for my next tires, but I got a sweet deal on some brand new 37" MTR's, so none for me. But if any one wants to trade for the same, I'm game:D

Snow handling? Its an un-siped M/T?

I think its refering more to the actual thermo/heat properties of compounds. A compund that doesnt retain as much heat will mean that the layer of snow it interfaces with will not melt as quickly which means there will be less water (melted snow) between the tire and the snow directly under the tire. And less water means technically the tire is on drier surface (even though that surface is frozen water). I think these are typically low density compounds.

the three compound tire is not the M/T. they are referring to the super sport A/S(a=all, s=season)

it is the new mud terrain which is a more street friendly krawler/mud tire. thats it. Bf realized that a strictly krawler tire isnt practical for the weekend warrior, there you have it

LOl wha? We kinda knew that already.

But only time will tell how well this thing does. I mean that review is great but it might be biased (no pun intended). Reviews on PBB and other forums are going to be the real test. But with BFG's reputation and history, I'm pretty sure it'll be a great tire.

I read in my new 4 wheel and offroad that they used these on all the trucks for ultimate adventure, and didn't blow a side wall on any truck the whole time:thumbsup:
