It is awesome. Check it out on eBay. It even has the rare 3000.00 optional seats! I wish I had the money for it, or the money to convert mine. (if I could find the parts obviously). All I can say is wow. Look at the 2007 Saleen F-150. It looks like crap. Ricer Crap. Good Old Vintage Explorers. Looks like the guy actually drove it with 86k miles. He shouldn't have for value purposes. Thats what my 1999 Daily Driver has.

Your Ex is running rings around that one...

That would be a couple steps down for you... Would that be a project vehicle just to work on?

so nice!!! I've always wanted one of those! You never see a saleen explorer here in Toronto Canada

its only 1/1 with the particular options that he chose.... there were 43 made in 1999

You don't see a saleen explorer anywhere except for Hunt Valley, MD. 1 of 1 made

I think they actually made over 200 of them--some even had v6 engines--bwa ha ha
Saleen, schmaleen

Thanks Donner, but I like the fact that it's a registered saleen and being one of a kind. That is why I think it so awesome! Plus I love the seats, front bumper, and oh so rare spoiler. Its not worth the price when new, but maybe now it would be worth it, if it was to be stored and driven rarely. The thing is going to be worth a fortune in 10-15 years. To bad he put miles on it. Anyways, what do you guys think? Nothing Special? Or on the top of your wish list?

thats a nice saleen explorer there is guy 3 blocks from where i live and he is selling his saleen explorer. It's hella bad ass and ****.

Definitely close to the top of mine. $11k seems like a great deal for that, considering a stock XLT of the same year and comparable mileage in comparable condition could go for only a couple grand less. You would be getting so much more with the saleen though.

That seller is a member of our forum which Jon and I frequent, E...X.com, there were around 125 made total. I have the rear wing, that's the only part that I have been able to get.

studd469, there is one from one of the other members, in Canada, for sale right now. I think that it is the one clone, made at the same time as the others, from parts bought new, for a new truck then. He was asking $8000 or $9000, somewhere in there. Search on here for the thread, it's been here for 2-4 months. Regards,

In my opinion, the only saleens worth this price, are those that are authentic and documented.

Do you know how the "real" one's were made, and how Saleen dropped support for them all after the last XP's were made? They took a new XLT and swapped the parts, just the same way that the one I mentioned was built. If Saleen had had the integrity to support the vehicles for the federally required period of time, they should be honored and respected greatly. Saleen tarnished their heritage massively by what was done. That is the same thing which caused all of the special parts to become obsolete after the last model run.

They have value, but far less than what they should have. I like them immensely, but I can do without just fine. Check out the tons of pictures that are in the gallery there. Used models turn up every once in a while, see about getting one and driving it. Regards,

FYI, that XP8 is very rare with black seats, very nice.

Good looking truck. For a streeter. ;)

I hear ya, Its the authenticity that has value though. even if it is really just a XLT with some fancy options. I could also live without one. I really like those seats it has though. That and the front bumper and spoiler. All of which I could have added to mine if they didnt discontinue the parts. I guess that is pretty lame, considering if you wreck yours, you cant get the parts to fix it. Is that correct?

Yes, and those are the exact parts which i want, I haven't been close to a bumper.

FYI, the seats can be had from Recaro sources, they are too high at retail though. I've been hoping to see in person an Acura R model Recaro seat. They look good enough, but they may be too small for a truck, or a good sized adult. Recovering a set by the factory service company would not be too outrageous.

CDW where can you get those seats even at retail? How would you go about it anyway even if they are sky high? I wonder if they would make them in Tan...Ah, one can only dream. i cant justify replacing my seats really. They are really pretty nice. PS I think the Integra seats would be to small.

I have those same 99 Limited heated seats as extra parts now, I like the 93 Limited seats better.

If you search for Recaro seats on the web, a couple of places will come up. They have many many models available, and those are not at the top. The top seats are near $3000 each, those I think were just over $2000 each. The shape of that seat matches a model which they sell normally.

The Saleen trucks had this first one, called a Top Line. The 3rd one below is what I'd like to have, an A8 unavailable seat model. The 2nd model is about the most expensive, last is the Integra seats. Regards,
