A few weeks ago Tracy and I went up to a run put on by www.4x4him.org. and wheeled a trail called Isham Canyon. It is just North of Trona CA. It is fairly close to the famous surprise canyon trail that is closed right now.

It is not the hardest trail I have run but was a fun trail and had a good time. Just do not take the same lines as the buggy in front of you that completed King of the hammers a few weeks earlier. The ranger body is too wide. I took care of the passenger side of the bed and Tracy did a good job on the drivers door. With a few backups and different line choices the body damage could have been avoided. Lockers front and rear are needed 33"s might make it but 35"s would make it easier.

Here are a few pictures we snapped from the run.

Looks like a fun trail!
That's not very far from an area I go to fairly often (Last Chance Canyon).

Are there bypasses for spots like those? (wondering if my friend would be able to take his long Supercab on 33s up there)

It would be tough getting a supercab on 33"s up it. It was fairly tight. It might be possible but it would take alot of time to avoid body damage.

Your bed isn't too wide any more:D

The clearance difference is huge. I do not seem to get hung up near as much as I did before. The only trail I have ran with 35s and 37s is Clawhammer. It is not a very hard trail so it is hard to compare. If I had the room and the axles I would be up for running a 39 or 40 inch tire :D
