BD's 2000 Explorer Limited

My eyes are still bugged out when I hold the projectors up to these little housings.

This is gonna be a lot of frigging work! Ive had all the stuff scattered out on my desk just staring at it since it got here. Im just gonna do a front end swap with like a Navigator or something with adequate sized headlights :)

I did order a new blower motor controller FINALLY. I found a few RA discount codes online so I saved about 5$. (Total was only like 60$ shipped) I cant wait to have low settings! I hate turning it on, getting cold then turning it back off and the cabin heats up in 2 minutes again so I have to turn it back on.

Still havent got my new blower motor controller yet :(

RockAuto usually has my stuff shipped to me within 2-3 days, so hopefully its here today.

Anyways, we got these little RC Helicopters at the store to demo and sell for 29.99$

After playing with one, I had to get one. These things are tons of fun. I thought they were just some cheap little no name model, but theres some cool mods online for them, and upgrades. I already ordered a bigger battery and some spare parts. I even moved the LED into the "****pit" so the body flashes red and blue now.

I got my new blower motor controller in today finally! It was a PITA to get to, I ended up taking out the blower/fan, and the resiviors to finally get to it.

Its so nice now to have low settings again! I had todo the same thing on my Grand Am, and I was just as happy :D

So I havent really started on the headlights-

I kind of psyched myself out of doing them, because of the ammount of hacking I would have todo to the headlights, but mainly, I had NO clue how to mount the FX-Rs onto the housing. But after a chat with Andrew from TRS, I figured out how, and I also figured out that ALOT of the projector can be trimmed way down. (Mount holes, excess metal, etc).

For a couple days, I had said screw it, im gonna exchange these with some Mini H1's and call it a day, but then I saw some beam comparisons (Thanks dreddog47)

(Had to steal your pictures man! :D)
FX-R on top, Mini H1 on the bottom:

I like how the Mini has more of a fuller beam at the bottom, whereas the FX-R is more flat, but look how much more intense the FX-R is.

(Those are both 35w, I have the 50w:))

Those pictures, and the chat with Andrew sold me on keeping the FX-Rs. Now I gotta go stock up on Dremmel bits :p:

May have a new job in line! Its at the engine plant I was trying to get in before, but now as security.

That'd be an awesome job! Heres for hoping!:chug:

Good luck Brian:thumbsup:

I have a buddy that does security at a chemical plant. He loves it.

Security?

You'll have to start lifting.

You know- lifting stuff of the chair you'll be sleeping in for 8 hours a day.

:D

good lcuk brian

:D

Lmao I wouldn't be doing too much sleeping, I'd have to be checking every semi and truck that comes through and I'm sure theres a decent ammount.

good lcuk brian
Thanks Sam!

If all goes well, I would love to see myself in a late 3rd or 4th gen next summer.

Been really busy the last few days, havent got much work done on my X, or been on here much.

Today or tomorrow im gonna replace the oil pressure sender, my gauge is acting funky.

(Well its done this since shortly after I bought it, but after making sure I did actually have oil pressure and oil, I figured it was just the cluster, and never thought much about it again. My previous cluster had a bad tach, remember? So I dismissed the issue pretty much)

But now that its getting colder again, its starting todo it. (I replaced my cluster with the white faced sport cluster a couple months back). So I did some more research and found out its pretty common, but its bugging the hell out of me now, and still makes me a tad nervous seeing "no" oil pressure, and my "Check Gage" light on.

(It also bugs the hell out of me that ford put "GAGE" instead of "GAUGE")

Figured id share this too!

This older man walks into the store, says he locked his keys in the trunk, so he used our phone to call a tow truck to come unlock it for him. They get there an hour later finally, and cant do it. He tried 2 or 3 different ways, so he left. The guy called the BMW dealer or something im assuming, and they said the only way he'll be able to get in it, is to break the window. This guy was LOADED so I dont think he really cared when they told him it would "only" cost about 2000$ to replace the window.

So nonetheless, he goes outside with another customer who happened to have a bigass hammer, and tried to break the window. (Window would not break, didnt chip or crack even!)

GM does the same thing. Our 98 olds bravada, and our old car, 98 bonneville both said "gage" I agreed though, Its dumb.

And as it never fails, after everything seems to be good in my X, something new pops up :)

When I go into reverse, (Whether im going straight, or turning either way) the rear end is "popping." Its not a nasty pop, or clunk like the tcase binding up or something, just a nice "pop" sound. I happened to shoot a video this morning leaving work.

It sounds as if its more of a clicking in the video. I havent really noticed a pattern yet, (As it just started last night).

I spent a few minutes searching, and came back empty handed. Nothing I found really pertained to what im experiencing.

U joints?

if you are not turning and it makes those sounds it's u-joints. $15 @ autozone.

Is it bad to continue driving like this? (Are they gonna fail or just make noises?) I only ask because I have to work the next 4-5 days straight.

Unlikely they will fail that quickly however I wouldn't wait too long to fix them.

First climb around under the truck before buying parts. That didn't sound like a u-joint to me, lots of things can make faint sounds like that.
