I'm needing to replace some if not all of the electrical connectors on my 5.0 fuel injectors. What do I call the type of injector or the connector?

Ok, I have a '97 5.0

Ok, double check as both styles physically fit, the connectors inside do not. The ones I purchased are listed as ev6 ev14 so now we're both confused.

@Turdle @410Fortune The one in the picture of the one that I'm holding in my hand has a plastic clip on each end. One clip is broke off. A RockAuto picture shows a wire type retaining clip and individually are price kind of high. The 8-packs from Amason work out to $2 to $3 each. I was seeing the ev6 and ev14 description too and has me confused. Maybe Jamie can weigh in too.
Below is link to many connectors.

@410Fortune @Turdle I still haven't found any for sure info and google searches yield results that are me asking questions...

From my phone I found it but could not share,

It'll come up with a link to fuel injector repair site. Does this help ya?

Here is a picture of the 1997 (3-96) injector that I plan to use...

Below is a picture of the 1999 Crown Victoria fuel injector connector and the coil-on-plug connector. Neither will even slide onto the '97 injector.

Maybe when I replace the injectors, purchase them for 1999 Explorer or Crown Vic, then I won't have to swap connectors?
The 4.6 and the 5.0 both use 19# injectors.
Thanks for the help Jon!

Would this be an injector used in Explorer 5.0s ~ 1999 to 2001?

@Turdle Jon, Thanks for 'searching' with me for replacement connectors. During the searching and looking at the powertrain control harness that I'm using off of the 1999 Crown Victoria, since I'm using that with the newer style connectors and I have to replace my injectors from sitting too long, that I will purchase some rebuilt Bosch 1999 and up injectors therefore making new replacement connectors unnecessary. Thanks for the help!

If you get a broken connector and cannot source a replacement simple small zip tie will hold it to injector forever

Looking online the second wiring connector is called ev6 and ev14?

Seems impossible to locate the early 96 style connector on the internet in a semi quick search

Aftermarket / reman injectors can come in several different colors

ev6 and ev14 showing to be the same? is what me and Jon were coming up with and not seeing the rectangular '96 to '98. I liked Jon's idea of using the new plastic piece with the old metal connector and wire that is in good shape, but if the zip ties will keep it in place, then that will work too.

i regularly use zip ties.........way before the internet allowed us to just buy new connectors
Go to junk yard and they all break...

on the early style the zip tie goes between the two wires and around the injector, use small zip ties.
The later connectors you can actually put the zip tie through the connector where the old broken plastic tab was, and around the injector
