OK, My son Bryan and I are replacing the rear u joint on a 92 silverado extended cab. It has a 2 piece drive shaft and carrier bearing.
It looks like the 2nd half should just slide off the slip yoke, but it only moves about 3" and stops dead. Chiltons says "to replace the carrier bearing", just separate the 2 drive shaft units and slide the new one in place, however, even with a little pry bar nudging this thing will not slide off. What am I missing?????
No chevy comments please, just need to get this thing fixed and I know I get the best help here. Thanks
