1997 SOHC owners, question...

Can a few of you go out and crawl underneath your dash to see what your throttle cable looks like where it attaches to the pedal?


Mine is like this

I was looking to do the throttle cable mod, and saw how another person did his, but he had a spring where i have all of that slack. I just wanted to know if mine is just missing it, or is that just how it is.

After some searching, i found this thread http://explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=180168&highlight=throttle+cable in which the poster says that the 96/97 explorers have an extra inch...like mine. I wonder if a later cable would work, and take out this slack or not...i would guess so...time to hit the junkyard and try it
