whoch merc engine?

you could make ot syandalone amd same for the trans.

It’d be fairly straightforward if you had a donor. The wiring will be substantial. You’ll essentially swap everything over to the old vehicle. This is assuming you’re using the entire drivetrain.

For any real advice we need some idea of what you’re actually doing.

Merc originally was a 239 and a 3spd
youd basically have to transplant nearly every wire from the ranger to merc so its doable. basically everything comes out and goes in.

Just finished one similar use all the wiring harness from the motor and a trans send your computer off to have a reprogram for the stuff you want to delete then on youtube look Up EFI guys wiring system for the Explorer to use it in a different vehicle.
You should do original ignition switch and original wiring for all the lights and the other stuff and just wire in the motor as a separate wiring system that way you just need the run wire (coil) from the key to the red/green at the diode to power everything and then you need to run the start wire from your key to terminal 85 on the starter relay in the relay block. Obviously connect all the appropriate powers and ground when needed.
You will need to do a 12v conversion on the car and if you want to use the original gauges just add anothrr oil and temp sender to the motor that works the original gauges. You will have to leave the 4.0 senders for the computer to use and just T off to a new sender position for the 47 gauges. You will also need an efi fuel pump for your tank or use an explorer tank. The ranger tank has the filler neck in the wrong place.
