It helps prevent the fluid from foaming
It works great with or without a limited slip traction device

Gale banks (I watch a lot of Gale banks videos) has some excellent information on the web about what happens inside a rear differential and why the additive is always a good idea

Gale banks is a genius. Ford has the limited slip additive too. I usually get a couple bottles of that and Valvoline synthetic 75 140

I usually put the additive in first and fill it up to the fill hole, let the excess run out. Check vent hose while you're down there.

Most full synthetic gear Lube includes an anti foaming agent… but I still add the limited Slip stuff for good measure

Nothing major today, just did upgrade to headlights. Maybe I'm just putting off getting under the truck because it seems to get harder to get up off the floor.

Before:

6 8mm screws (2 screws and 4 bolts actually) to remove the top cover...

one screw for each turn signal then pull out the turn signal, be careful not to damage the 2 slide posts... disconnect bulb, it twists out.

there are 2 slides for each headlamp assembly, that pull up that hold the headlamp assembly in. You can use a pry bar to assist you if they don't pull up with your finger. Incidentally, you would do this process to replace your headlamp bulb. Disconnect the connector from the headlamp bulb and the assembly pulls out.

Install is just reversed. Step back and enjoy your new lights. Don't forget to align them. I did count the threads which actually matched the new ones, but they do look like they might be high.

I also noticed that plastic cowl was gathering water, so I grabbed a drill with a 1/4" bit and drilled a hole at each wiper arm area to drain the water that pools there. I got this idea from another forum.

These are the headlamps, these ones come with new bulbs as well. The others are just housings.

That's a valid concern! I crawled under my truck and back out so many times when I replaced the fuel pump and filter in June that I started having dizzy spells when I'd stand up or lie down. Several times I had to put my hand on the truck to keep from falling. It's mostly, but not completely cleared up. It's one reason I haven't fixed my dash lights. I don't want to contort myself as is necessary to get to the screws for the hood release.

Vertigo is a real thing! It really sucks to get because it makes it dangerous near impossible to work on cars and especially under dashes

I had a bad fight with vertigo, turns out I had a piece of compacted wax the size of a grain of rice on my ear drum.
Two doctors couldn’t help me… they kept referring me to somebody else… I’m like lady I can barely get to the car to get here my wife has to drive me and I was throwing up like every time I moved . I ended up getting a small camera and scoop off Amazon that allowed me to look inside my own ear… I finally found the wax, as soon as I touched it with the little scooper my whole
Body shook. I knew that was the cause.. I was able to remove it and instant relief
It has come back a time or two. It can be blood pressure related and COVID made it worse. But worth looking at your inner ear if it is a persistent issue

My next sport trax upgrade is the rear camera, our tailgate shares a handle with a f150 flare side so the aftermarket makes a handle for us with integrated camera. I’ve had one new in box for a year now? About time I install that bad boy

When you drilled the holes can you show us where you drilled them? Did you coat the bare metal with some paint?
