No cranky cranky eh? Well then alternator check on isle 9 :D -- you could even tap (not smack) the alternator with a hammer, its a common (temporary) trick worth a shot!

The Alternator Would Keep It From Doing Nothing. Do You Think It Could Have Anything To Do With The Key?

No your key is probably fine.

First try jump starting the vehicle. The reason behind this is that there could be enough juice in the battery to power the vehicle's electronics but not enough crank over the starter/engine. So first jump start it with another vehicle -- let it suck power from the other vehicle for about 10 minutes and then try to start it. If it starts, then the vehicle probably has a defective alternator or a defective battery.

If after say 20 minutes of sucking juice from another vehicle (jump starting), you turn the key all the way and still the engine doesnt crank, then its probably the starter that is at fault.

I Tried Jumping It And It Was No Luck. IT DOES'NT EVEN TRY TO TURN OVER ITS LIKE THE IGNITION IS DEAD So Maybe I Will Try The Starter.

Thanks

How about your terminals? Are they making a good connection?

i am having the same exact problem. This past Saturday I went to crank it and it sounded like it was trying to crank but the battery just didnt have the juice to get it there, so i jumped it off and everything was fine the rest of the day.

I didnt drive it Sunday so Monday morning i tried to crank it and it didnt even sound like it was trying to crank. I tried jumping it off again to no avail so i thought it could be the battery. Took it to Advance and they put it on their machine and determined it needed replacing. So i bought a brand new battery and put it in and its still doing nothing. All the instruments, lights, radio, sirius radio, keyless entry are working, it just will not crank.

EDIT: I read where the alarm system can malfunction and cause the vehicle to not crank even when it has be disabled. Is this a possibility and is so how would i go about fixing it?

Problem fixed. Called the dealership and they suggested trying my spare key which never occurred to me because i would not have thought the key being the problem. So i just got home, tried it again with the the key i had on me and it wouldn't do anything. So i grabbed the spare and there was about a half a sec. delay from the time i turned the key until it cranked. So i turned it off and tried the key i had tried first and it cranked right up.

First Post...need advice...similar problem

I had a similar problem...

Car ran great until I shut it off and tried to restart it 10 minutes later. Nothing but a click. After jumping it ran fine. Shut it off and not even a dim glow to the interior lights...completely dead. Jumped, removed the battery cables and the alt. kept the truck running. Replaced battery and still nothing but it will jump off another battery and run fine. Once you turn the truck off there's nothing. Put a charger to the new battery and it wouldn't take a charge. On the charger there was a buzzing from a relay but it was the blower relay...

Someone suggested a relay, someone else suggested a bad ground. (wouldn't that keep the truck from running?)

Any experience with this?? Suggestions??

Was the THEFT light blinking rapidly? It could be related to the PATS system.

No theft light. Compltetely dead.
