Not sure what went on there, Firefox crahed after the first post, so I logged back on and had to do it again...
Sorry about the double postage.
I would be interested, couldn't vote on the poll, because I don't know. Price is a factor, as well as reliability. I have alot of extra electrical stuff on my truck, and I don't want a dead battery. I also tow a travel trailer, so cooling is important too. Just need more info.
I'm hoping that the same length serpentine belt can be used..
What it does is slow down the crank shaft speed & alternator speed hence underdrive..
My Mustang used the same belt. Not to say that this set up will or not. Like I said, the water pump pulley will be the toughest constraint on the development. If they can't enlarge it, it will probably take a smaller belt.
My neighbor did have a charging issue with UD pulleys on his 90 5.0 Mustang. It was fixed by replacing the original alternator pulley.
Not exactly. What the UD crank pulley does is slow down the accessories that are driven by itds belt. It does not slow donw the crank speed.
Wait a minute--
it would take a smaller pulley on alternator to make it spin faster---
I ride a bike enough to understand this---
