I was wondering if anyone knew how difficult it would be to put a 2nd Gen body on a first gen frame? I have a 91, and the body is in pretty rough shape, and i've seen some pretty good deals on 2nd gen rolling chassis in my area, but want to keep my TTB. I know the wiring would have to be redone, and that the airbags and all would have to be addressed, I just want to know how different the body mounts are.

There's a thread somewhere of someone putting a 2nd gen front end (firewall forward) on a 1st gen frame & rear. Search for it you'll find it, not positive what he did

yeah, i saw that, but the damage on mine is down the drivers side just above the door, and was badly fixed in the past. I would need the entire body. I like the look of the second gen, but as I stated before, want to keep my 1st gen running gear.

I remember a long time ago, someone did just that He Had a 1st gen frame but a 2nd gen body. He came to this site because of some electrical problems. I wouldn't know what to search for but I guess it is something that can be done.

The body mounts are identical except for the front two. Those are off side to side just a couple of inches.

If you really keep the old chassis, try to find a 4.0 OHV late body, and get the entire wiring with that, and the PCM. The later PCM will work fine with the older 4.0. Only an odd sensor or two may be different. With all of the late wiring, you will have about all you need.

thanks, that is almost exactly what I wanted, I searched but didn't find it. Thanks.
