Started building a front bumper today, what do you guys think? Rear bumper is shaped the same way and I wanted to stay close to it. It is a little longer then I'd like but I have a body lift and I wanted to keep the frame hidden and the body line tight.

this is what i was trying to tell you josh

i should have said body line. have above the line flat, then have below the line curve down like you have it now. however, that would be very hard to pull off knowing your rounding the corners of it

Yeah I figured it out after the last message! I'm not rounding off the corners so its all just flat steel and angles. I'm gonna add card board over it in the morning and see how it comes out

Thats looking good! I like it, I wish I could get one or build one for my mountaineer

Thanks man! Just jump in and go for it there's not a lot to it. If you build it yourself you will save a ton of money and be able to say you built it and didn't buy it.

Very cool,

Thanks man, how's you project coming along?

Yeah I would definitely build one but I don't really have access to a welder so if I can get one I'll probably start one. Could you post pictures of the mounts?

Well the wife's mountaineer now has AVM hubs and a 4406 and shes happy so now I can get back on my sport, I have AVMs and a 4406 E for it, but I also need to finish up a few things from the v8 swap, it never ends,

Yeah I finally had to break down and buy one. My factory mounts were pretty crooked after two different girlfriends hit people so I cut em off and started with the bare frame.

Here's the new mount

Here a shot of the bumper mount. I welded the bolt head so I didn't have to fight to get a wrench in there

I'm in the same boat man! My girlfriend drives my 04 xlt and I already did the 2.5" strut spacers but now she wants it higher so I just ordered a 2" body lift. And I'm trying to get my truck ready for Carlisle in a few weeks. It never ends...

Cool thanks for the pictures. I'll definitely keep an eye on your build I wanna see it completed to see how it turns out!

I finally got my lights ordered and shipped so I decided to go ahead and finish it up. I added 3.5 warn fog lights and a 22" single row led light bar

I used 5 in exhaust tubing to make the buckets for the fogs and they fit perfectly

This shot was after some touch ups and before the final coats of paint.
