I've had my 3" b/l on for almost a year w/ the same old 31X10.5x15 BFG's. I want to go to a 33" tall tire, but have some choices. Please give me as many reasons as you can!

1) Keep stock rims, and get 33x10.5x15's Only BFG makes this size. But is it too much side wall (too high an aspect ratio)?

2) New Rims for 33x12.5x?
a) 15's are cheap rims AND tires, but is that too much side wall?
b) 16's that are OEM are cheap and plentiful (are they wide enough for 12.5's?)
c) 17's or 18's are probly out of the question due to price. Both the rims, and the tires are expensive. But would less side wall be desireable?

What is the optimal side wall height for a 33" tall tire (M/T) that will be used for off roading?

Thanx much,

33x10.50's would be easier to fit... 33x12.50r15 would look better... factory 16's would only be good for a 33x10.50 also. cuz they are only 7" wide jus like the 15's. i would get new 15" wheels and some 33x12.50's and do what u have to do to fit them. i guess it depends if u mind trimming some or not. and i wouldn't worry about too much sidewall. especially with only a 33" tire

i would keep the stockers and get the 33x10s. but thats cause i like stock wheels..lol

you can run 33x12.50 on th stock 7" wide wheels, but you will get some additional wear down the middle of the tire. You can adjust the tire pressure often to get them as flat as possible (tread wear)

8" rims would be better with 3.75" backspacing

if u check and see how much shipping is from NJ and dallas, tx. i got 4 to sell..at least 65-70% left. i upgraded to 35s. 33/10.5/15 bfg at ko

No one will want my 31's, they're done (like 70k on them). I'm sure I want M/T's too. Thanx for the offer, but A/T's are not what I'm after.

I'm pretty sure 33x12.5x15's are the way for me to go. Can any one recommend a 15x8 3.75 b/s rim? Aluminum vs. Steel, good price, any thing else? The tires I'm considering are Goodyear MTs, BFG MT, or Krawler, Kumho MTs, ProComp MT's or XT's. Any recomendations? Thanx,

Wheels depends on if you want a nice polished aluminum look or a cheaper black or chrome steel look. The steel wheels usually don't look as nice. The tires I like are the more expensive two of the bunch, but you can't go wrong with the BFGs or the Goodyears.
