Maybe you can get a higher gear ratio. Your 6 speed has plenty of room for highway driving.
I would then get this:

Fab it on and get a good tune and run about 6psi or so... a nice conservative boost and she will run all day long with stock internals. That will get you into 400rwhp no prob.
Beef up the drivetrain. I really dont think you will have to do much more than some good axles and half shafts, you have a great tranny. Correct me if im wrong but its the same tranny as the Navigator, like a 6/100 (my 5 speed is only a 5/55). Much weaker.
Save up for some forged internals then get a good long block build, turn the boost way up.... your buddy wont see your smoke.
Of course you would need a bit of planning and buying a lot more parts than I mentioned...
If your not that much of a gearhead I suggest do the intake and exhaust upgrade I mentioned and a higher gear ratio. You will give your friend a good run for his money.
ok i have to questions. one, is the supercharger youre talking about the one for the 05+ mustangs?? and two, which one is better turbocharging or supercharging. if one costs more than the other then i dont mind spending more for one. i just want the one with the most power gains and the one that lasts a long time. or.... would it even be possible to supercharge and turbocharge because turbos use exhaust gasses and superchargers are pulley driven?
My biggest concern with adding that kind of power is the durability of the trans.
there is no replacement for displacement as quoted by a friend
The trailblazer SS is a 6.0L lt1 (same as corvettes) good luck hes 400 stock hp mod for mod it will always win, i say challenge him off road lol
Yeah havent you ever heard of a Formula-1 enginethere is no replacement for displacement as quoted by a friend
Yeah havent you ever heard of a Formula-1 engine: -- 700 to 780 hp from half the displacement of the Ford 5.0 block (2.4L) .
The trans would like that I'm sure, spin it ten grand.
I wonder what he did, no updates?
Yeah, I was just tossing out a number that a trans would not work well with.
How have you been Rob, very busy I hope? How is your truck doing, and the 4R70W?
