Well, as many of you know the C&L MAS houseing works well with the MAC and Volant intakes, so i figured i'd try and put one on with my k&N intake. Here are picts of what i was dealing with...

here's what i came up with...it isn't installed yet cause i need to get some new screws for the sensor cause i stripped them pretty bad taking it out. I used a PVC flange and drilled some holes in it. i think it'll work pretty good. I'll get some more picts when it's complete.

Hope you get it on soon. I have a KN and would love to know how that works out.

i have the same docs... i hope you get it all figured out!

Go it done and on the ex. It just barely fits since it's a little longer than the old set up.

I used a 73mm C&L MAS housing for a mustang off ebay, modified it to fit the stock ex sensors, used some pvc and a rubber collar. total cost $110

I took it for a drive and didn't notice to much difference, i was mainly do'n to see if i could improve my gas mileage, i'm heading up to my parents this afternoon, so i'll have more info after i get back.

nice man!!!! haha Im a plumber and noticed you used a reducing pvc commode flange!!! hehe I cant belive it LOL!!!! all joking aside good job

Thats some serious $hit no pun intended :p

Good job. Only thing Id do is paint that thing flat black.

ya, i'm kinda think'n that too....

In case anyone was wondering, it appears Ii have gained about 2mpg since adding this....thats only from one tank of gas, so it could be a little skewed.

The C&L MAF's for mustangs where meant to be used with a "calibrated" sample tube for the sensor element so be careful here. The MAF is the single most important sensor on your truck and if you skew it's data you will throw off a LOT of other things within the EEC. Most likely you are running the truck much leaner now hence the better MPG. That larger housing is flowing more air but the sensor is only seeing a portion of it, this will skew your load, fuel curves, timing etc.

Don't be suprised if you see a CEL in the near future or you may get lucky and the adaptive control will make things right again.

I like the set up you made, however Green is right. You have to be real careful messing around with the upstream (of maf ) airflow.
keep us posted

the "sample tube" for the mustang housing is bolted on so they tube size can be changed, If you look at the picts, you can see that there is clearly no tub in there. It's held in by two allen bolts.

I also just got a SCT Xcal, so everything should be tuned up right pretty soon. No CEL and it runs fine, i'm not too worried.

What kind of computer tune(s) will you be using?

I will be getting a gas milage tune and a towing tune from bamachips. I want to get my exhaust done before I get it though, so i don't have to get it retuned again.
