My girlfriend has a 1994 Mazda Navajo. 4wd, auto. 170k on it! Runs like **** now.. When you start it, it either stalls or idles at almost 2k then drops to 500rpm. If you put it in gear, it will do the same. I took off and cleaned the IAC valve(idle air control valve), that didnt help. What could it be? Anybody else experience this issue? PLEASE HELP!!

Vacuum leak? I might pull codes and check fuel pressure, just as basic diagnostic steps.

As someone stated up above, make sure you have no vacuum leaks. Especially on the vacuum tree off the engine on the driver side in the back. There are sometimes caps that like to come off for no reason back there.

alright thanks guys I'll check for those vacuum lines for leaking tomorrow at work.. i'll post tomorrow night If i found anything..
