Hello all,

I used to hang out on this site a lot, especially when I first bought my explorer. However, somewhere along the way, I found the truck I have wanted since I was a kid.

I have not been around here for a long time. I mostly hang out on the old ford truck forums, but thought I would drop in and say hi again.

Yes...I still have the explorer and drive it sometimes. I drive it to work sometimes (I am adjunct faculty at a small college) to stay cool in the AC or when the weather is horrible.

Most of the time I drive the truck though. It is way to much fun to let it sit at home all the time.

It looks like a lot of things have changed around here. Looks interesting.

Later,
Brian

What is the DMI website? It has been a while since I was here.

Oh...I remember when that was started. Guess I forgot what it was called. Thanks

Welcome back, BB!

Thanks Section.

Haven't talked to you in a while.

I don't have a lot to say or ask as far as the explorers (for now). I will nose around a bit and see what I can get into over time.

jtsmith: I am doing ok...mostly. I received a kidney transplant in April. The kidney is doing fine, but I am having a lot of weird side effects from the medicines. They are working on them.

About all I do to the explorer is change fluids as needed and drive it.

In the 4 (or so) years I have had it, I put on brake pads, tires, and replaced the thermostat.

Right now it is overloaded with body shop supplies and tools. My garage and body shop are a gravel driveway.

Welcome back man.

I still have not got to touch my 53 f100 yet. Its killing me

A neighbor of mine has a kidney stone. He went to the hospital, and they told him that he has a horseshoe shaped kidney. I thought that he was mistaken, but I did a search on this, and there really is a condition like this. He is out of luck if he would need a transplant. Did you get one kidney or two transplanted? I hope that you feel better soon.

I am not sure where you are on the 53. Is it rolling just rolling stock? Running? How far from street legal?

Just a project that has not been started?

I cannot remember. Sorry.

What I try to do is spend a couple of hours a week tinkering with something on the truck. I try to do very small projects. That way I feel like I accomplished something at least.

Money is extremely tight with me. I may buy one thing and not get to buy the next needed part for 4 or 5 months. I am trying to just be patient.

It was a project that i had started when you were on here more. I have it fully stripped down off the frame now but money got really tight with my new business so i had to stop. Its going to prob end up as a drag truck

We only talked about it a handfull of times

I was typing while you posted. This is my second kidney transplant. The first one had a virus and was not supposed to make it through the first year. It made it close to 6.

I received one kidney with this transplant. That is all you really need to live a normal life. That is why living people can be kidney donors.

I feel OK. Just the side effects and I am tired. That will dissipate over time. I just need to get more active as I can.

I remember us talking about it. I just could not remember details or anything.

Mine was going to be a hotrod....was...

I went to the 2006 F-100 Supernationals in Knoxville, TN. Out of 1,600 trucks registered (F-1 and F-100s)...there were 4 Y-blocks. Mine runs great, so I am keeping it.

I drive it everywhere. I was over in OK a month ago in it. Just over 4 hours each way...in the same day. Saturday I was at a car show in Mammoth Spring, AR. The Friday before I was at a cruise in/car show in West Plains, MO with it.

The suspension is all rebuilt and I have power brakes hidden under the cab. I have had it as fast as 75 on the interstate (out in OK).

Now that I am not a paying member here now (that thread still exists, but I can't post in it anymore)...is there still a location to start a thread and show off your ride?

welcome back

Brian, I moved yout truck registry thread. Tell me if you can see it-

If not, we could merge it into this one???

I'm glad to hear the positive attitude. We did come thru there last year, however I sensed you really weren't up to a visit. Sometime in the future though, I want a ride in that truck!!
