Another OHV M90 build

ah, excellent on the dyno. I pass Motion performance every day going too, and from, work. I didn't know they had a dyno.

By the time you get back, I'll have mounted the M90 (that doesn't sound right) and have a reasonable tune. I'll be able to swing by and see you with that tell tale whine under the hood.

Hey Dono, what fuse is that your mentioning?

I'd have to look again, but it is the fuse that is for my interior dome light. When I blew that fuse, I lost 4x4 also. As far as I could tell, this isn't documented.

do the BWM don, its real simple.

Maybe this weekend. We will see. I need to get the garage cleaned up before the install so I actually have some space to work. Stuff's everywhere, tools are not organized...ugh.

Is there any reason to do the brown wire mod other than the dyno? Other than the rear tires tearing loose for fun, that is.

when i still had the electric case, i was just the fact of not hearing, or feeling sometimes for that matter of it engaging when it was on dry pavement.

I don't have the brown wire mod and I break plenty loose in mine. Once I ditched the blingy rims and went for 17x9's I noticed even with more rubber the truck loves to be sideways.

Phix, hows your transfer case, and front drive assembly holding up?
Im wondering if the sudden hit the front wheels take when the pcm(I think its the pcm) senses the rear wheels spinning is hard on it.

I am only 2wd, but did try the brown wire mod for a bit just to get around my lockup issue. Which let me tell you was a nightmare of user error on my part, but I have since removed that mod. I would imagine (from riding in an awd boosted v8) that its stressful on the moving parts. You figure that is what your PCM is doing when it locks up the converter. Its computing the best time in the schedule, if you remove that you can run the risk of burning things up by forgetting that wire is on or off at any given moment.

So lets talk numbers, how much boost you hoping to make? How much hp/tq do you think your make?sad part is rocket will probably make more than both of us on a stock sohc and m90:eek:

if you are 2wd, um......you dont have a transfer case to do the brown wire mod!

horsepower wise, I'd love to see 240 at the rear wheels, but I think that's a bit optimistic.
Torque? Who knows?? More than I have now.

Love the pictures. Someone posted this one, and I had to steal it.

Anyway Phix, I'm sure what you said just came out wrong. There is no question that you had solid reasoning behind what you were doing.

Maybe I should outlined that I converted to 2wd and ditched all my awd? seems a bit wrong to jump to the conclusion that people don't know what they are talking about all the time. I understand the forum has a ton of un-grateful new members on a day to day basis but I am aware of what the brown wire mod does. As for each person who felt the need to search the internet picture.. think about your contribution to the forum today.. does it seem as awesome as the dick who can't use the search button?

No harm done Phix. I'm sure we all knew that there was a reason for what you said. It just wasn't apparent by what you posted. You definitely have shown you know what you are doing around here.

Sorry for the fun at your expense, but I think we saw opportunity in this to post our favorite pictures. For that, I thank you!

My turns coming, I'm sure of that. JD has caught me on a couple of stupid typing things, I was just lucky to not attract too much attention.

No harm no foul, just used to not seeing that on this forum. It has actually been a reason for me enjoying reading and learning from my setup. Would have expected someone to ask for clarification vs. making fun. I own a highly modified toyota as another project and just about lost interest in my drift car all together due to people and their need to answer/comment with gifs and jpegs that really showcase the commentator's IQ level.

weeeeeeeeeeell when you dont say what you have fully done, people are not going to know it either. if i wanted to get real picky, looking at your other post you made, you said that you converted from awd, to 2wd. still, there is no bmw for awd. just select track 4x4. as for contributions, you may also like to click on a few links in my sig. as for projects, this little explorer is about the 3rd one i have done for myself. my 81 big block capri that i have is still waiting for me to do the body work inside the engine bay, and my lifted 07 ranger is my daily driver, and my lifted BII that i had built when i as 22 is long gone. i am not even counting all the others i have helped, or built for other people, a few which have made it into full articles in magazines.

so yea, i wouldnt be to trigger happy when posting about others IQ level.

don, sorry for making a mess on you thread here.

Hey, no worries Tim.
I expect everyone to go back to their corners and things will settle down.

Im betting Phix is saying 'All Wheel Drive', when he means select track.

Anyway, its all good. Like I said, when I make a typing/verbage error I could very well get face palmed. Since we are getting to know each other, Id expect no less. Its all in fun, and if there is opportunity..take it!

So we are somehow supposed to just automatically know what you meant? If you don't want to be given a hard time then how about you post in a more clear manner? There are plenty of stupid people out there and, no offense meant, but how am I supposed to know that you aren't one of them? Speaking of forum contribution, though debatable, I am pretty sure I have contributed more solid technical data and performance advice to the Need For Speed section of this forum than possibly any other member in the history of EF.com over my 10 year tenure here. You are barking up the wrong tree if you want to pull the whole "member contribution" card. Stop letting your feelings get so easily hurt and learn to take a little bit of ribbing in stride. ;)

Phix if you want to continue this discussion then take it to PM so this thread is not taken any further off track. Back on topic.
