Bearing Hub - The inside story

Just replaced the front right hub on my 98 AWD X. These do not need to be greased prior to installation do they?? shouldn't they come prelubed??

I emailed Timken

to see if the grease has a polyurea filler. Haven't got a response yet. This type of grease is often used in sealed bearings because it has a longer life. Unfortunantly, earlier versions of this grease had bad reactions with the more common lithium greases. This can thin the grease several grades. This would require you to grease the bearings again after a few K to replace the thinning grease.

Thanks for the info. I replaced the part myself and wasn't sure. Still got the noise though, sounds like power steering problem. Will drive it till something breaks.
