the first gen..... It has a front axle that flexes more....im also assuming we are taling aples to apples same gears with a ls or open in the diffyes.

yeah apples to apples, i guess just an over all better off roader

thats what i think to, even though the TTB acts like a plow sometime it flexes more

1st gen TTB made it the better of the generations in stock trim.
2nd gens are you're next best bet but IFS sucks
3rd and 4th gens well if IFS sucks then add IRS to the equation. You get the point.

1st and 2nd gens though can both be equally modified for serious offroading with about the same amount of work. The third gen would be a hell of a big project to turn into a crawler.

The second gen came with a factory 5.0 so then I guess my vote is an SAS'ed 2nd gen with a factory v-8 and an Atlas t-case :D

First gen hands down. Easier to modify, cheaper, great engine (crap tranny though). And you can do an sas pretty easily on one...depending on what your planning :)

+37's 5.13's or 4.88's lockers and then you have one hell of a rig....

Yeah 1st gen X for sure.

Not only the first gen but the 2 door IMO< but it depends on the trails/type of 4x4ing you are gonna do.

The sports have an AWESOME wheelbase for trails/rocks

Sweet, I just got one of these thinking it was gonna be a dog compared to an Eddie Bauer with all the bells and whistles. Good to know there is hope for me yet!

Thanks!

You could get the 2 door with the Eddie Bauer package in 92 :)
