BFG A/T v M/T

I have read many posts here reguarding these 2 BFG tires. People seem to have sworn to either as being great for both on and off road. It seems to be more a matter of personal preference which one people like more. And the general theme seems to be that:


A/T: 60% on road 40% off
M/T: 40% on road 60% off

Well, I love how the M/Ts look and although I drive a lot of on-road miles, I think I am going to get them because they look much better and will do much better in the snow, mud, and sand that I offroad in. I would love to hear you all go crazy on this subject

FINAL QUESTION: I have a superlift 4" suspension. CAN I FIT 33x12.5s on new American Racing 15x8s??? Will I need a body lift? Can I just shave off some of the stuff that it rubs against? Or should I just go for 32"? Thanks a lot!

Dude there is no contest. The M/T is the choice for me. It accually should be called a A/T just cause it works sooo well in all the situations I have had it in. I had All-Terrains once and I was not impressed. They really are good street tires but thats about all. The M/T's have the lugs needed to get you up and over some things that the A/T just sits and spins since it becomes a slick. Most people refer to the A/T's as slicks too just so your aware.

You mean they do better in deeper snow than on packed snow...right? In my experiance the M/T is not at all as good in packed snow conditions, however once you hit the deeper stuff they do work better.

They work better on packed stuff too. At least in my experiences. But all around they do work better in snow.

you can fit 33's. Colin (fenderguy), had 33's and does fine. He now runs 35's. He has a 4inch lift. You might have to trim a little of the fender.
You need to ask yourself what gearing you want or if you plan to regear. 33's are gonna make you really sluggish same with 32's, just not as bad. What are you're stock gears? To make everyone laugh i ran 3.08 with 32's for a while. Man i could FLY on the freeway. On the otherhand i couldnt get away from my own shadow.
