When your 2 year old gets a hold your keys and opens the liftgate without your knowledge, and then it rains all night long.

Ughh. No water in the back, but very humid and thick condensation on the inside of all the windows. 2 hours of running the car with the ac cranked seems to have cleared it up.

Gonna make sure he never gets a hold of my keys again.

hahaha....glad you didn't get rain in it...i know that smell can take a LONG time to get rid of.....also, it's a good thing he didn't hit the remote start button.

That wouldn't be a big deal, it runs for 15 minutes and shut off.

I never let my kids play with either my keys or cell phone! :D

Kind of like having your 7 year old run out to get books from your Ex in a rainstorm, getting those books, and leaving the back passenger door wide open so you can 'rinse out' your back seat for 2 hours? No power liftgate required. :)

Water Leak

It may have not been your 2 year old leaving the power lift gate open. I just had mine in service for 2 weeks because of a cracked seal where the roof and rear side panel join. Every time it rained, water would leak down the 3rd row seat belt, completely soaking the rear area.

Another owner had the same problem and they found 3 cracked seals.

Next time it rains, leave the vehicle out for awhile - on level ground. pull down on the seat belts or check the carpet for wet areas.

Just hope it was your 2 year old.

umm, I went out and the liftgate was open.

he, he ,he, when my son was 2 years old he was using my cd player as a coin slot , everytime I hit a bump in the road it was shorting out my car stereo. Took it to the dealer and it was full of coins. I still don't know when he had the time to do that without us seeing him, lol.

On a related note there is an option to disable the power liftgate if you think it might be helpful, otherwise yeah keep the keys away from the little ones. They may end up driving the truck once they get bored with the liftgate, he, he, he.

Hahaha, that exact same thing happened to me with our son when he was young. I think it cost me about $250.00 to replace the OEM radio/CD playyer.
After that experience I learned to never keep coins in the car when you have small children:D

I remember the dealer calling at the time and asking: "do you have small children?" I answered puzzled: "yes, why do you ask?" Well he said: "they used the radio as a coin holder"

whew, good to hear I'm not the only one with strange events like that, I ended up getting the coins out of the player without having to replace it , glad I didn't have the added expense. Yes good advice if you have small kids hide the coins !

In my case, the coins made a short circuit and "fried" the OEM radio head unit
