Power Liftgate Issues

I'm guessing that the liftgate motor isn't working. I don't know if there is a similar site in the BC Kootenay area.

While my Ex was in the shop for keyfob issues, I requested pricing on the Liftgate motor.
The response noted on the invoice was "latch assembly needs to be replaced."
quoted $5xx for the part and $15X for labour.
I assume they have access to some codes that I don't see, so will attempt to source a latch/lock assembly.
