I disagree with that completely. I get a LOT of snow where I am in PA, and my A/T's work great in the snow.

Not here in Chicago... there are two guys here at work right now (one with a Wrangler on 31s and the other a Dodge 1500 on 33s) that are sweating the snow after driving in it last year with their BFG A/Ts. One is even considering buying a set of snow tires (the Dodge). The year before last they both had stock tires (Goodyear RTSs I think) and neither ever had to use their 4x4. Last year they both had to use 4x4. Their BFGs looked like big snowballs when they rolled in in the mornings. :p Shoot, the guy with the Pep Boy Dakotas (another Dodge 1500 on 33s) does better in the snow (cleans out pretty good) and his tread is almost exactly the same BFG A/Ts, there is just a slight difference in the space between the tread.
The year before last we had a snow run and one of the guys was running 33/12 BFG A/Ts and he was hating life... the things would not clean out for crap.
IMO BFGs are all WAY overrated tires. There are far better tires out there for a better price and ones that actually come with a manufacturers warranty.;)

that is wierd. so many have them here in NH and all swear by them. People plow with them and I have even seen them as snow tires. they are rated for sever snow.

Yeah, everything I have heard is that they are some of the best snow tires out there. I just got myself some 30 x 9.50s. Bring on winter! :D They are very nice looking tire too.
