Not here in Chicago... there are two guys here at work right now (one with a Wrangler on 31s and the other a Dodge 1500 on 33s) that are sweating the snow after driving in it last year with their BFG A/Ts. One is even considering buying a set of snow tires (the Dodge). The year before last they both had stock tires (Goodyear RTSs I think) and neither ever had to use their 4x4. Last year they both had to use 4x4. Their BFGs looked like big snowballs when they rolled in in the mornings. Shoot, the guy with the Pep Boy Dakotas (another Dodge 1500 on 33s) does better in the snow (cleans out pretty good) and his tread is almost exactly the same BFG A/Ts, there is just a slight difference in the space between the tread.
The year before last we had a snow run and one of the guys was running 33/12 BFG A/Ts and he was hating life... the things would not clean out for crap.
IMO BFGs are all WAY overrated tires. There are far better tires out there for a better price and ones that actually come with a manufacturers warranty.
that is wierd. so many have them here in NH and all swear by them. People plow with them and I have even seen them as snow tires. they are rated for sever snow.
Yeah, everything I have heard is that they are some of the best snow tires out there. I just got myself some 30 x 9.50s. Bring on winter! They are very nice looking tire too.
