03 ford explorer limited
Hi! I'm newer on here and I had a question. Does anyone have a picture of a 02-05 explorer limited with the stock chrome rims Powdercoated black? I've been kicking this idea around but can't find what it would look like. Thanks! P.S. a pic of a silver explorer is best but not preferred.

If so, that's sorta what you'd get with a smoked black-chrome powdercoating. Then, to see what they'd look like on your truck, just explore the street truck threads (or google) and see explorers with black rims. Might not match your's exactly, but it'll give you an idea.

No thoes ain't the same ones I have. Thanks for showing me thoes pics tho! The rims in my profile pic are the ones I want to do and I wanna do them straight black.

Why dont you post a pic of your truck, so we dont have to guess at which rims you have? Someone may even be nice enough to photoshop the rims to whatever color you want.

Wow, thanks for using my picture! :D

I did the pictured wheels, and could do shiny black, satin, or flat. Where are you located?

Lol the internet makes the world a small place.

Yes alex! Thoes are what I have. I'm located in south suburbs of Chicago. I'll post a full pic of my truck when I get on a reg computer. Stupid thing won't let me right now :/

Pretty much the same rims as the limited. But these are plasti dipped and not powder coated.

Ok, so I can't find the exact rims done in black, but this Ex is silver and has similar rims. It's the best I can do without getting photoshop and learning how to do it.

Around my center caps there's bubbling in the chrome. Can that be plasti dipped?

The plasti-dip will work fine with bubbling or not. During powdercoating it'll be sanded down. I think.... haha

Thanks for all the help!

Yup. And I recommend the plasti-dip first. If you really like it you can get them coated, but if you don't the plati-dip comes off relatively easily. Not as permanent, but best choice since you're not sure if you'll like it.
