Um, why would a 1354 have a brown wire? The infamous Brown wire is for the 4405, and supplies power to the front output clutch.![]()
The 1354 also has a clutch, but it's only for shift on the fly. When you engage 4wd it energizes the clutch for a few seconds to spin up the front output to match the front shaft speed before the case engages.
