Buying 2000 Explorer XLT-Why so cheap?

The thing to watch with the SOHC's is those timing chains. The parts alone to do the front and rear chains is gonna set you back $500 at wholesale. Also, the engine has got to come out.

I've seen people on craigslist parting these out when the timing chain goes. At 13 years old the cost of having this done in a shop is more than the truck is worth.

honestly i would check the title to see if it was salvaged flooded or something down here in tx. i picked up my 99 v6 2wd for 3000. there are tons of explorers down here tho
