Picking up a 91 explorer sometime in the next week, I'm new to the model but not to offroading or mechanics and have a couple questions.

I am looking for information, write ups and how tos for SAS, I have done a couple s-10s but would like any information available.

I also plan to run 34x10.50s on near stock suspension - Torsion bars cranked, AAL in the rear and maybe a 1" body lift. I'm confident I can do it with heavy fender trimming which leads me to my next question. Are there any good write ups with pictures of the design of the fenders?

A 91 explorer does not have torsion bars. You would have to do a ridiclous amount of fender trimming to get 34's to fit on stock suspension. Turning would also be an issue. Do alot of research on this site!

What type of front suspension set-up will the 91 have then? Unfamiliar with explorers but I have been researching. I understand needing to do a lot of fender trimming and that is okay with me. I have a lot of experience with Jeep Cherokees and Full size trucks. I've run 34's on a stock high Cherokee and larger tires on a lot less lift then people said I could. Thanks for the help.

All the SAS info you need will be in here.

The front is ttb (twin traction beam) with coils. The fenders can be cut as much as you want, but anymore than where the inner-well (the pic) starts is pointless.

Good luck and welcome to the site.
