i have a bw 4404-04 and in need of a transfer case i have in it a 4404-04 and was wondering what the dif is between this one and a 4404-07 and do the other numbers on tc tag mean anythins

If it's for a 96 or 97 Explorer you need one with the speed sensor in it for sure. I think you also have a normal flange on the front, for a normal u-joint. Look at your truck, see what the back end of the front drive shaft looks like. If you have a rubber boot there, then a TC will be easier to find. The first AWD version for the Explorer is made for a u-joint there, I think it will have four bolt holes instead of six. Welcome,
