bypass PATS

I have a 2002 ford ranger that will not crank over, the dealership has diagnosed as a PATS issue and needs a new PCM to fix, is there any way to trick the PCM and bypass the PATS portion of the PCM?

Custom tune

I think PATS can be bypassed with a custom tune. However, the tune may cost more than just fixing your existing problem.
