Went for a day trip today with my friend Tim and his jeep club. I think there was one of every kind of jeep from yj or newer...yj,lj,xj,zj,jk...and a couple kj Liberties, one with a straight axle.
We met up at Valero gas station in Yucca off hwy 247 then headed to the Mottino wash trail which is an off shoot of Rattlesnake Canyon. It was a long way in to the actual trail but it was very scenic. Probably took us an hour once we got off the pavement to the trail. There were about 15 rigs and we made some stops along the way so that made for a long day.
The hillsides got a light dusting of snow and the skies were clear and made for a great day of wheeling. Glad I dressed warm and brought extra layers just in case. It was pretty chilly in the canyons where the sun was blocked and the breeze kicked up.
Once we got to the trail it was challenging but fun. I would rate a little harder than the trails in Big Bear...lots of boulders and rock gardens. I'd say 35s and one locker at minimum.
Once the trail ended we took Rattlesnake Canyon which is just a wash trail back to hwy 247 and ended up about 10 min west of the Hammers.
I didn't get many pics but here's a few I got.
EDIT: I was calling it Sidewinder Canyon but it's Rattlesnake canyon. Sidewinder Canyon is in Death Valley.
I don't have time to build... Sell me your ranger and build another one. I have a 2004 D60 and a 10.5 for partial trade you can use in my backyard!

Yeah I've been trying to get out wheeling more. There's some things I'd like to do to the truck but I'd rather wheel it than have it be on jack stands for now.

I would love to, we'll see how things work out. I'm gonna need some tabs cut if you are interested and have the time. I can't seem to find anything I like from the usual vendors.
