This is a bit of a strange question.
97 B4000, manual transmission; 203,000 miles. Runs good, looks rough.
Last week occasionally while driving when I depressed the clutch I heard a "click" from under the dash, seemed to be to the left of the steering column. Did not seem to affect anything and it was intermittent -- did not happen every time I depressed the clutch -- so I ignored the click.
Today parked the truck, got back in, depressed clutch, cranked it, in neutral, released the clutch, then tried to put it in gear -- clutch pedal would not depress -- pressed as hard as I could, tried to pull up with my hand, it was not depressed, it was in normal up position, tried and tried. Finally called local tow guy, took to my regular shop on rollback.
Rollback guy and mechanic at the shop rolled it mostly off the rollback, mechanic from the shop crawled under it, fiddled around with something underneath the clutch pedal, got it, clutch worked, drove it into the shop, told me he would call tomorrow when it was done.
What happened? Obviously he did something to the clutch linkage while crawled under the truck that allowed th clutch pedal to operate normally -- took him all of one minute. What did he do?
Thanks.
