Some of you might have seen or remember my dad's pickup that we rebuilt will he has always wanted one of these so it came up for bid at the auction so he bought it.
I'm going to help him rebuild it and hopefully he will let me use it to pull the Explorer to Moab in a few months. It's a 2001 with 70,000 miles I think.

I think the hardest part will be fixing all the holes from the person that had it before. They had a stereo system I think with the overhead TV screen and they put holes all over the interior. When they took it out they cut a bunch of wires dad is trying to figure out what is what.

Cool project Perry. What engine does it have?
I think it is that economy V6 turbo charge engine.....:D

No it has the powerstoke and whoever had it put a 4" exhaust on it but dad hasn't had it running yet. He didn't get a key with it and it has the chip in the key so they are having trouble getting it to start or it might be one of those wires that were cut when whoever had it before took out there security system & other electrical stuff.
Dad was happy with it because it has expensive aftermarket rims & tires.

Any clue on how it ended up the way it did?
Have no idea, he bought it from the insurance auction so you never know what happened to them.

motivation for you, I even rolled with the same rims.
I don't think he wants to lift it any specially since he will be pulling there camper trailer with it, but yours does look very nice.
So how do you like your Excursion???

I do have a question, on the interior behind the heater control do you have something else there? My dad's has a big hole & I think they had one of those TV screen up there so he might buy one just to fill in the hole unless there suppose to be something there.

Maybe you could take a picture of yours if you had time. Thanks.

Where are the auctions you goto? Loveland? Denver?

I suppose these are non-public also :(

This one is in Denver and you used to have to be a dealer but I'm not sure if that is true anymore. I don't get to go with like I used to so I don't keep up with it anymore.

The fix to that problem will be that you'll have to fill those holes by installing another new stereo system with overhead TV screen :D
