I was reading and doing research and found a site on here to do the custom emblems. I was amazed how easy it was actually.

1. Use blow drier to heat up the front clear side of the emblem (imagine the clear is like a layer of blue goo).
2. Use sharp object to dig the clear out start away from any chrome. once you get it started if you heated it up enough it will come off in a rubber clump.
3. Clean the chrome surface up as the blue comes off with the clear layer and tape off everything you want to stay chrome.

4. They advised using chapstick or a crayon I used the chapstick and rub it on the face of the ford lettering to keep the paint from sticking to it.

5. Paint the emblem the color you want

6. The last step is to use a chemical epoxy called Envirotec epoxy it is avalible at Hobby Lobby, Target and on line for about 10.00 you need 1.5 ounces of it for two emblems front and back. Mix it acording to instructions and slowly fill the face to include the grove around the face. Let it sit and after 12 hours you can form it to how you like and after 24 hours they say you can even sand it I havent done that.

I have to wait on pics until I join the group and pay the 20.00 this friday. The post basically is a write up once I add the pictures it is that simple. I found a guy selling them for 60.00 each on Ebay figured I would try and can do it yourself for less than 15.00 for both and save 105.00

Ok edited it hope it helps not perfect but for my first set I am happy with the turn out.

when you paste in from photobucket click the "Image Code" bar... you got pretty close tho so I'll help you out :D

i want to do this black them out. when i do my retrofit projector i plan to black them too just unsure how tinted tails/turns, and blacked headlights would look on a gold truck.

Never know until someone tries it maybe photoshop it and see.

yeah thats the stuff you use, just make sure you get equal parts when mixing and use a torch or a lighter to get the bubbles out, pretty easy to do

My bubbles came out on its own. Thats also the big container will only need 3/4 once per emblem.
