dim dash lights on my 92 XLT

Hello fellow Explorer owners,


I have a 1992 XLT. The dash lights that luminate the gas and battery meters are dim. How do I go about getting it fixed

They may be burned out. The instrument cluster is backlit by 4 lights (at least in my 97) and when one fails, the light from the adjoining bulbs bleeds over, making it appear like the bulb is just dim. My guess would be that the old cluster is probably lit by 3, and the light behind those gauges is burned out.

The dealer did mine, but at least on the newer ones its pretty easy to change them.

i thought that my lights were burned out too and i was looking around for a while trying to find the problem, but then i realized the dimmer switch for the interior lights was all the way down, which dimmed the dash lights. STUPID ME
