Anyone know if the side air bags deploy if the rigs tilted wheeling or does it have to have impact for it to deploy? I know the new Tacoma's and FJ's have a side air bag button to turn them off while wheeling because the car will think it's rolling and deploy them if you get a little sideways. Ive had it pretty tilted on the trail and nothing happened but I don't really want my seat blowing up because 1 it would scare the CRAP out of me and 2 it would cost a lot of money haha.

Had a buddy that had his nissan side bags go off roading :D

In general, I don't think they would. Now, if you were about to join the roll over posse they may deploy as the shiny side of the vehicle hits the ground.

I've watched people try to set off airbags at tuff truck competitions, and its actually harder than you think.
