The guy that did mine had it upside down at first. The spare wasn't going to fit (or so said his boss).

That is the right way because THIS is the wrong way.
Don't try this at home folks. It's a waste of a good 1/2 hour work. :D

This is possibly a stupid question, but will the bar still do it's given function as well if reversed?(as in X-factors pic above?)

If so it would help to get the bar up and out of the way for minor wheeling when I don't want to take it off. ;)

wheeling with a swaybar on the rear is like fighting over the internet ;) and we all know what they say about that

LOL ain't that the truth. I should rephrase my question. Can the bar be mounted upside down without adverse effects?

To better facilitate my laziness when traveling FS roads to camp spots, trailheads, etc... Obviously it ought to be removed before really wheeling, but it, as well as every other piece of my undercarriage, has gotten hung up on one thing or another going up to some of my favorite meditation spots. These are usually short little roads off of the main FS road.

I could take the bar off for better performance, but it really doesn't hinder me if I drive slowly so as not to be bounced off the side window. And why for a mile of washes? Lastly I drive a lifted explorer on 33" tires. I want all the sway control I can get on the pavement.

You can get quick disconnects for your swaybar.

As far as adverse effects of having the rear bar upside down, I don't know. But just looking at one upside down, seems to me it makes more sense to have the bottom of the arc as low as possible. Probably some physics principle I am too dumb to figger out. I was installing mine, and had it fished up in there, upside down, and then got to looking at it, and thought, "how ridiculous!".

I think you could probably mount it upside down, but it would interfere with having the spare under the back of your Ex. As far as performance, from a theoretical standpoint, it would work just about as well upside down as rightside up, provided it doesn't make contact with any of the underbody or suspension while it's flexing.

Regards,
John.

Hee hee the spare don't fit no more anyway.
Honestly I was just musing, and plan on making some disco's if I feel the need to remove it.

No local stores carried the endlinks - where can I find them?

Well I haven't said anything due to a possible lawsuit, but installing the swaybar upside down, causes allot of problems. Mine was installed upside down, look at the results...
Now take a close look, but it's there... A million dollar photo...

After having my EE swaybar installed...I get a wild sounding CREEAK on the right side when going over a pronounced bump (ie high driveway at an angle). Does anyone know if this is caused by a 'bad' bushing? Everything is torqued properly.

Hi jordan23:

Make sure the bushings are lubricated properly. The EE kit doesn't really come with enough. Make sure the split collars aren't so tight that they are binding. Also, make sure the lube groove in the collars is facing the bushing or the lube can squeeze out.

Regards,
John.

Thats awful Ron.
Pls keep us posted as to the findings of mounting the bar wrong.
Sad but it is done alot, would suggest anyone with the EE bar take a look at the install.
Not bashing EE or the product as it is truly a great item.
