i've been thinking of swapping to an electric fan instead of replacing my stock fan (its cracked almost all the way through on every blade....super glue is holding it together right now =/). theres tonnes of them on ebay, such as http://cgi.ebay.ca/NEW-16-Electric-...ryZ33600QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem and http://cgi.ebay.ca/16-inch-12v-Elec...ryZ33600QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem for pretty cheap (about 50 bucks shipped), but how do i hook it up so it turns on when its getting hot....i do see some kits have a "fully adjustable electronic thermostatic cooling fan control module with air conditioning circuit". i think their just trying to make up some fancy words for something that is simple... like those "mod chips" that are really just a resistor that goes on your MAF... ive tried searching, but i hate those google search's for forums, you get nothing out of it.... this is a kit that has that such thing http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...agename=WDVW&viewitem=&item=110220680791&rd=1 i would much rather spend 50$ and get pretty much the same thing instead of spending 200$.... im on a very tight budget, and im basically only fixing things if i have to. i would rather fix the fan before it explodes and causes havoc apon my engine bay. anyways, thanks for your input.

i guess i could just hook it up permanently? directly to the battery with a inline fuse? would probally decrease the life of the fan using it consistantly though...idk, what you guys think.

you can buy that cheap fan and then get a temp unit from any auto store (I think those are ~$60, not sure though). The AC thing isn't bull. It automatically turns on your fan when the ac comes on (could be done with a relay). But, the nicer fans do have variable speed, where as cheaper ones are either on/off.
