Got a squeaking coming from the engine. Its not the belt just got a new one a tensioner few weeks ago) Maybe its the water pump? anyway to lube those?

take a listen and see, it starts squeaking toward the end of the clip. Any help?

I would say its probably the alternator. I've heard them make this noise when the bearings start going bad. It might be the water pump, but I've never heard one make noise until the bearings fly apart! Good Luck!

alternator, eh?

I've got a really similar noise coming from my engine... Looks like its off to the junkyard for a new alternator

I'm also hearing it could be time to clean the IAC and MAF (MAS)

Yeah I hear a vacuum cleaner also-cleaning the IAC and MAF wouldn't hurt.

-but the squeak is something different-
did you try running it without the belt?just for a minute.( Don't run the engine this way for over a minute--as the water pump isn't driven)

see if it still squeaks with the belt off.
if it does-it is probably the CMP -cam position sensor

If it does not squeak with the belt off, then the niose is in the accessory drives
-rotate each pulley by hand. You should be able to feel which is the culprit.

thanx jon i'll try that this weekend if weather alows

oh wow, i hope its nothing that serious... thanks for the link
