Engine Swap - 1996 4L for 2005 4L

I have located a 2005 4L short block, part number 5L2E-6015-B13A. Will it accept 1996 Ford Explorer 4L heads, manifold, flywheel, starter, transmission housing, etc.? I am concerned about bolt patterns and other obstacles. Any assistance is appreciated.

correct me if i am wrong, but your 96 should be a ohv yes? and the 05 is a sohc? if thats the case, no, the heads will not work.

I know very little about motors, but I do believe mine to be OHV. If the short block requires a SOHC, then it sounds like it is a dead issue from the get go. I am assuming there is no economical workaround. Thank you for your help.
