Hello all.

I recently bought a ´91 Explorer, and I am having some problems with the engine.
First off, when cold it can take a while to get it started .. it never takes less than 3 tries and sometimes well over 10 tries.

The other thing is that sometimes when accelerating from a stop the truck just barely moves. Often this goes by pressing the pedal all the way down for a few sec, but not always. Also at idle speed the engine is sometimes running like it´s just about to shut down.

After reading through this forum I did a self test on the EEC, and got the following codes:
KOEO: 111
CM: 144,187

144
(M)
Oxygen sensor not switching Single, Right or Rear HO2S - Fuel control

187
Injector pulse width shorter than expected or Mass Air Flow (MAF) higher than expected - Fuel control

Now, any ideas how to resolve this issue?

For the hard start, I'd probably start by putting a fuel pressure gauge on it and see how quickly the fuel pressure comes up to spec (40 psi)
