Welcome to the Forum.have a 2012 exp limited, can anybody give me some advice on these crazy headlights on this truck? High beam in trees and had to raise the low beams just to see down the road. I have LEDS should I got to HID? Any advice would help on how you guys are riding in the dark
Your thread was moved here where the same issue is discussed.
I also noticed the lighting of the tree tops when I first got my 2011 Limited. That was normal.
If you have LEDs then you must have changed them. You likely won't do much or any better with HID because the headlight housing is designed for the factory bulb. Have you checked the pattern with the ones shown in your Owner's Manual?

LED Headlight Conversions
Has anyone done a conversion to LED headlights on a 2011-15 Explorer? If so, what kit? I have a 2014 Limited and was considering HID conversion, but would rather go LED if they are as good as HID. Also, how does the LED work in the halogen projectors?
