well, my truck goes in in about two weeks for my flames and a full respray of white. Not exactly sure on the layout for the flames i'm gonna go with etc. but i'm pretty certain they are going to be either plain green pearl ghost flames with a little blue, or the same type of design but with a "double flame" with one end of the middle blue pearl and the other end the green pearl.

i'll post a couple pics of paint jobs that i like- and if your not sure what i mean by "double" flames you'lll probably understand after looking at the pictures.

also worth noting, its being done by a friend from my truck club in house of kolor paints and the flames will be under the hood, in the door jambs everywhere as well as all over my fiberglassed interior pieces (although the interior flames will be the same colors as the exterior but with black as the base)

don't expect fiinished pictures of the exterior for about 5 more weeks or of it all for at least two months though, he's gonna plan on having my truck for a full 3 weeks just for the exterior portion of the work, then having my interior for another 3 weeks after that to get it done.

i like the blue f-150 super crew's flames..they would look awsome on your EX..

i second that, i think the others have too much going on witht the flames

there is no blue f150, there is a blue lincoln

haha the blue lincoln it is

First we need to know more detail, like the color of your interior, which rims, etc. I think that 2 tone flame job is nice, but will any of these colors match with the interior? It has to match or you will not be happy with the end results. Just my 2 cents worth.

it's a f-150 super crew with a lincoln
gator front clip..still a f-150

I'm not a fan of flames but I think the blue lincoln or whatever looks the best. It's probably been asked before in another thread but why flames? I'm just curious.

why flames? well suggest something else, post a pic maybe and i'll consider it. i just haven't found anythign i like better.

the base coat is staying white, i'm keeping the white rims, and the the same color and design of flames will be all over the interior pieces too. The only difference will be that the base coat will be black rather than white on the interior.

also, the reason for the green is that i have green leather and a green headliner and part of the dash will remain green so thats all gonna tie in

i think a nice 2 tone..there was a nice truck i saw some time back..let me find a pic

Ghost flames in this design would look sweet...but might not be considered as "custom" as the more full flame designs. The blue F-150's (it is an F-150 right?) flames look good too. I am excited to see the finished product regardless of what you choose. Time to see some custom paint jobs.

Funny that blue F-150 looked like a Lincoln Blackwood to me...

BTW I like tribal flames, but it seems lots do these days.

I was just curious, I guess I should have said why are you painting it. My personal opinion is that I don't think an Explorer would look right with flames on it. But I guess you could always prove me wrong by doing it and it turning out sweet (which I'm sure it will).

What I think would be a sweet idea would be something kind of like the flamed front end...but rather have an exposed metal type look to it. So the front end would be a bluish torched metal look and then faded back so it actually looked like it was burned up from speed or something. Difficult to explain and I don't know how it would look on your white X, but still would be nice. I'll try ti find a picture to better explain.

drew has dabbled in ideas like that..the only problem ends up being money..stuff like that would add a bit onto the already nice sized price tag lol
