Over the past few weeks my gas mileage has dropped like a rock, i am now averaging about 12 miles to the gallon. I had issues with the truck spark knocking on a recent trip to the mountains and noticed this past weekend while tailgaiting at the braves game that the exhaust had a brief rotten egg smell when first started. After putting 2 and 2 together i got out the AutoTap and pulled some codes, i am getting the following:
P0153 - Oxygen sensor circuit slow response (bank 2 sensor 1)
P0420 - catalyst system efficiency below threshhold (bank 1)
the 2nd code makes me believe the cat(s) is bad, but the first makes me think the o2 may be causing this.. bank 2 sensor 1 is the sensor on the passenger manifold, correct?
Can anyone provide some insight on this?
This is a 4.0 OHV with 2 cats inline after the y pipe..
