I have a 98 Explorer and the factory alarm goes off by itself. It has a mind of its own. It goes off during the day and in the middle of the night and I'm tired of it.
So everynight I have to disconnect the battery so it won't go off in the middle of the night:thumbdwn:.
I lubed up all the door latches, thinking the latch might be sticking but that did not work. I looked at the hood latch switch and it is not damaged and it does move when I pushed it down. Is there a way to test the hood latch switch if is it good or bad?
Is there a way to completely disable the factory alarm? I know the module is the the back where the spare tire iron is kept. But I do not know which module is which. I would like to disable the factory alarm, it is useless to me. Which module is the alarm? And what wires are for the alarm?
