Fiberglass Fenders?

I was wondering what was so great about fiberglass fenders and hoods. Are there pros/cons about having them. Wouldn't impacts makes bigger dents and such? If people could tell me why they are good, how much they cost, where to get them, etc... I would appreciate it.

they are much lighter than the steel ones.....
allow wider/bigger tires if you get the flared version....
damage is harder to correct......

Do they fit exactly in place where the steel ones were? What is involved in installing them?
