Good evening,
.....I've been reading posts from this website for years now, so I thought I would go ahead an post my bio, and get rid of the annoying link telling me to post something :) Anyways, I have a 1993 Explorer, and I have owned it for about six years now. I bought it with a Rancho 2.5" suspension life. I first added 3" spacers to the front coil spring, and added the 4" leafs to the rear, and a 3" body lift. That worked for a couple of years, and allowed me to fit a set of Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 33". At that point I had put a set of 4:10's in the axles.
.....Now, I dropped most of the Rancho lift and added the 6" Superlift, but I kept the Rancho radius arms, which required modify them; that will be my next thread :) I also have my 3" coil spacers on top of the new 6" springs, and I installed the leaf spring flip kit to the back, and kept my 4" leaf spring, and the 3" body lift. So, now I have about 9" of suspension, and 3" of body, which puts me about 12" higher than a stock Explore, except that doesn't account for the 37" x 13.5" Mickey Thompson Baja Claws I now have, which probably puts me at about 16" - 17" taller than my stock counterparts :shoot:
.....I got my fiberglass at FiberwerX in San Diego, which is where I used to live before moving to the greater North West; I live in Mill Creek Washington. I was in the Navy for 8 years, and that is why I lived in San Diego, and Hawaii before that. I would love to find a couple of other Explorers to go 4x4 at Gold Bar or wherever. I look forward to talking with you guys.
.....P.S. I know there are a lot of Boeing people up here, so if you work there too you can look me up: Jon Bredensteiner

Glad you posted up;)

That's a great looking Explorer. We have a few other modifed Ex, and Ranger owners up your way. Diffwhackdaddy, 90ranjo, and Arsoul are a few that come to mind.

Thank guys, I didn't expect so many people to reply. It is nice to hear someone appreciates my work :) My wife always talks smack :(

It's funny, I did repaint it right before I moved up to Washington, and as soon as I moved up here I realized that the trails are really tight here especially compared to Southern California. So now I have huge scratches down the sides, and I even ripped the back fiberglass up against a tree the last time I took it out; the paint doesn't look that new anymore :salute: But what the heck, I didn't lift it for looks.

How does one go about getting their rig posted on the main site at http://www.explorer4x4.com/index.html

I forgot to mention that she now has 4:88s front and rear now, an Auburn ECTED Posi Locker in the rear, and a really nice Trac-Loc limited slip in the front. Do you guys think I am going to break my axles with this gearing and the 37" claws? Thanks,

wooh, yea the trails up here in WA are very narrow and full of bushes and trees, it's hard not to get all scratched up. that's a really nice rig you got there though.
