Alright so i went wheeling on sunday and found a nice water/mud hole and my air intake sucked in a large amount of water..... I was able to clean out as much as i could on the spot and somehow drive it home.... i havent had work till last night so i didnt drive the x and it ran real bad it wouldnt accelerate at first the rpms would go to 3000 and i would stay a constant speed of 20mph.... so this morning i cleaned out intake MAF, throttle body, and all the sensors attached to them and i got a good amount of dirt out of them... That helped but its still not running right acceleration is poor and i feel no power when i push the peddle and it idles at about 900-1000 rpms

Please can anyone point me in the right direction!!!!!:(

Dssssid you replace the plugs? Also zeee air filter?

i just got new plugs not to long ago havent checked them i can do that in the morning and for the air filter i cleaned it as well as i could with my aircompresser...... any other ideas?

Check engine light on?

have you changed the oil?
checked the oil level?
may want to change the tranny fluid too, if it sucked it water. At the very least, check the fluid level of it.

engine light is off

checked oil and oil is good i will check the tranny fluid also tomorow... any other things i should look at or for?

I would change the fluids like Gavin said. Maybe go through all the connectors to the sensors also.

kk will do
But would any of these things cause the vechile to not move when i give it gas? i am thinking about replacing the intake because i am certain the filter is shot even though i cleaned it, it still was dirty

Of course -- a corroded spark plug for example will not ignite or not ignite fully. A spark plug gets very hot and having any moisture in the cylinder (like water in the oil) after the engine has been turned off might cause the plug to oxidize -- just like a peice of steel that has been welded and then quenched in water. If the steel is still warm enough to evaporate the water on the surface after quenching, rust will form very rapidly, typically in a few minutes as the water evaporates. Mufflers and exhaust rust very easily because of the same effect. The heat supplies plenty of "activation energy" to oxidize the metal.

Just how much water went through this thing? Any engine noise at all? Because I have to say...if it were mine, I would do as suggested...pull the plugs, clean the MAF, check for codes, etc etc. But while I had the plugs out of it, I would most definitely check compression and see if anything strange shows up. I wonder if you swallowed a bunch of water and bent something.

not exactly sure i took plugs out and they had dirt on them not a whole lot but enough to get on the plugs so i cleaned those and the Tranny fluid seemed alright but then again i wouldnt know what i was looking for other than smell and color

it is always recommended to change all fluids after going through deep-water, especially if you're vehicle is not properly vented for deep-water passings (ie extended breather tubes, snorkel, etc etc)

that sux u flooded ur engine

it wasnt really deep it was max 2 1/2 feet but because i lost my inner fender liners the water shot up into the intake

When i get mine in too much water usually the maf requires a few cleanings. I have never had it completly do what yours did but to get mine normal i need a major maf cleaning hour

Update:
engine is running alot better now i did some driving today and it seams like its getting better but then my power brakes went out on me like 1/2 way... I push the pedle down halfway and its nice and soft but then past 1/2 way it gets really stiff!!!! does anyone know what could cause this??

i plan on cleaning the brakes tomorow ... should i bleed the brake fluid?

alright so the infamous check engine light came on and took it to the auto store to pull the code and it said my mixture is to lean so the guy said it was most likely the fuel pump.... what do you guys think?

I think if you dont get the actual code from the auto parts store you are just guessing

You need the actual code.
I think you have a few issues here, possibly a leak in your intake, possibly water in the oil, all kinds of things come to mind
